Jecca got in! On Balmung (the only Aether shard RP server I'm told!)

I'm Fufushiro Kyokyoshiro (points to anyone who gets the double-reference) and Jecca's Lalasu Lasu

Yes his name is long. It's convention. Naming is serious business.

Edited in Jecca's name.

No clue. I'd guess from an anime but I am not up on the current ones.

Ah, you are Dunesfolk. Kacho is a Plainsfolk. The naming conventions are fascinating!

Aren't they though? Once he hits 60 with every class, he'll have earned the nickname "Senryo."

I seem to be unable to add people as friends unless they're also online at the same time so I went off and created a Linkshell on Coeurl(and named it G4ooc, naturally). I'm not certain whether they require an invitation so it may have been for naught.

I wonder if we should make a g4 on Balmung. Lalafell love lengthy alliteration.

I've had no luck at all creating a character on Balmung; my lousy timing. :(

In that case I will keep an eye out for your character.

It took us a solid month. The expansion killed that server for trying to get on. You have to get on RIGHT as maintenance is finished... and I mean "you've got one minute."

Jecca's gonna pay the $18 to get her solo character over there. We're not sitting through that again.

Well, pretty much everyone has got this game, so I figured I'd give it a try. I have the trial version, and I'm 75% certain it won't go beyond that.
First - for anyone wanting to try this, be aware that you'll require a...newer...computer. From discussions I've had with Forbs, I have the impression that while his machine will do it's best, it by no means is a Cray Supercomputer. My system is probably a bit more advanced that his, and I have fps issues. Nothing major, just enough that it's noticeable.
Is it a beautiful game? Wow, is it ever!
Does it have great music? Oh, yus!
It's the first game I've played that had vocalizations as part of the character selection. I thought that was really interesting. Along with selecting what god your character worships. I have no idea what that calendar thing was about.
I made one of the 'Cat-People' - Mihki Jaab in case anyone's interested. I made it to lvl 3 so far, but I found a quest I can't complete, and I have no idea why I can't complete it.

So....why won't I get the full version? Simple - the same problem I had with Wildstar. There are supposedly gametime cards (for all of North America) that you can buy, but I can't find one. According the official website, Best Buy carries them, but an online perusal of the local store shows nothing. Yes, I have a credit card, and no, I don't want to use it.

Tldr - nice game so far, but they need to work on getting the damned cards to NORTH America as advertised.

Do you know of anywhere around you that sells the Steam gift cards? If you do, that's a workaround; the Steam version of FFXIV can be set up to take its subscription from the Steam Wallet.

Good idea, Zorelli. Interestingly, my local Krogers (a grocery chain) sells gift cards for Steam. Next time you get groceries take a look and see what gift cards they offer, Brixee. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Ah that means we won't be seeing a Dark Knight Jinkie running around with a massive axe :(

I do agree with you about the game cards tho :) I typically get most of mine at target but haven't had another reason to go to that store yet so *crosses fingers* hopefully they sell them. Other than that have you checked Amazon? I did see that they sell physical copies of cards and I did notice that the Square Enix site sold digital game cards too!

Mikhi is a lvl 4 Arcanist in Limsa Lominsa. First quest was to talk to a shipbuilder. Found her, but can't complete. Next, I had to kill 3 - 4 floating thingers (Aurelae or something like that) for 2 different quests. Can't hand those in, either.

In other news, I think the Best Buy got timecards in but have to go there to check for sure.

Something I've noticed is that sometimes you have have to be X level to turn in a quest. How far have you advanced the main scenario quest? Cause that might play into it as well :-) beyond that I can offer to much more advice as I brefily ran around there after opening up the rogues guild :-)
