Now I have 3 quests I can't complete. What am I doing wrong?

Okay, long story short, I picked up the version of FFXIV that has the base game plus Heavensward and I got the last timecard Best Buy had in the store. I set everything up to continue with Mihki and I discovered WHY I couldn't hand the quests in. Turns out I was supposed to pick my reward. Who knew? WoW seems to have made me lazy in that sense, I think.

I'm glad it eventually worked out. :)
If you're on the same server(Coeurl) as us, and you haven't already been,Aes, Ishi and Rug are frequently about to send you an invite to our Company. Unfortunately my desktop died yesterday and I'm trying to get the console version running so I can't do it myself.

In any case you can find the Free Company here.

Yeah, I feel silly missing the OBVIOUS solution.

I'll be popping in and out of FF today. I have no idea if I need to be online to get the invite or not, but if it's a case of 'have to be online', now you know to keep trying.

So I finally got a character on the Balmung server :) So now I've got a character in Dyna's FC on Coeurl named Sasashan Rurushan and I also have a level 1 rogue on the Balmung server named Roroshan Zuzushan :) So if there are any others still thinking you should play Final Fantasy 14- *pst* The answer is you should.

Something along the line of 3 mill gil, I believe. It's just a small house - main floor, downstairs, a small lawn for the Lalas to get lost in the tall grass. =) It's in the Goblet zone. No one has enough to get a private room, but I think I might be the closest to getting one. Those cost 300,000 gil. The first thing that was built 'furniture' wise was a hot tub. Which we all sat in and rped for about half an hour.

A FFXIV vid done to "Date My Avatar":

Not too bad, really. But I don't care for the "Gangsta Paradise" at the end.

Also of interest is this:

And this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j48pFJwWjEE&list=PLL5QTV3Hk60a35tst7sZDqhGpJXX3pviN

The first set of 5 deal with FFXIV version 1.0, how it was created, launched and the horrible flaws that came with it. Then it goes into how all this was uniquely rectified (quite brilliant, really) and made into FFXIV version 2.0

The second set of 4 talks about what holdovers there are between v1.0 to v2.0

There will be more chapters added to these, so if you're interested, keep this channel on your radar.

I recall watching a review at the time of the v1.0 launch done by (I think) Totalbiscuit. He didn't have a lot of good things to say about it, so FFXIV dropped off my radar for the longest time, and I actually thought the game had well and truly died. It was a surprise for me when I discovered that it was still alive and kicking via this thread. But I had no idea why it had been rebranded to 'A Realm Reborn'. And I had no idea that it had been redesigned so extensively. I suspected that there had been some changes, but not how deep or massive the changes were. So this series has been a real eye opener for me.

I yelled at a friend on vent because he wouldn't stop bad mouthing this game while I was just trying to give it a chance. When ARR launched he fell back in love with the game and plays it a lot.

- Diminishing returns on experience.

- Crafting UI was quite painful. Had to scroll through a list of everything in your bag and pick each crafting ingredient. I don't think it was that bad, it was mostly the latency that caused me a lot of problems.

- Latency was a big problem for the US servers

- the Leves were very limited every day

- map navigation was atrocious

I stopped playing because at the time I was still running a guild so that ended up taking my time away from a new game. Also even though FF14 started off terribly, they fixed it and now it's a great game.

I recently transferred my character back to Coeurl in prep for Stormblood. Would I be able to get an invite back to the FC for my character Selkis Dral sometime?

Sure! I or any of the Rainbow Pegasi or Proud Unicorns can invite you. Let me know when you'll be on so we can get it done. 😀
