I poked about on the Comm. site, and the Fair is scheduled on the 18th of Feb, from 4pm to 8pm.

Should we decide to vendor Pets again, Brixee has ALL the available Gnomish engineering schematics. As opposed to last year, when she was missing the Mechanical Toad.

Sounds good to me. I also think that it would be fun if we all did a little bit of the security detail as well for 30-1 hour or so or something like that as well.

If we want to do mechanical pets again this year we'll need to get a jump on farming mats. As I recall some of the mats were not easy to come by in the quantities we needed.

We should try and decide how many of each pet we want to have in stock. We sold out of the Mechanical Squirrel Boxes last time. The more affordable pets sold best, but we sold a few of the top end ones as well.

OK I posted in the event thread, so we'll need to get started on this project. We'll need to farm mats, build pets to sell and brush up on your Gnomish RP!

Well Glitter helped head this project up last time so he might have a better memory of the quantities we made. But if I recall correctly we took at least a dozen of the smaller pets (Mechanical Squirrels and Bomblings) and we sold out of Squirrels, and nearly sold out of Bomblings. I'd recommend we bring more of those this time.

I think we made something like 5-6 each of the World Destroyers and Bunnies, but I think we only sold a two or three of each of those and had a few left over. Some of which ended up being used as prizes in our Anniversary celebration.

Also I think we should bring a bunch of Tonk Controllers. We barely scratched the tons we made for the Anniversary. I sent them back to the people who made them. Do we have any left? I'm thinking we can set up a Tonk battle ring somewhere nearby.

Bottomline: The more expensive the pet, the fewer we should bring. But we should plan for 100-200 people in attendance, and some small percentage of that will be interested in purchasing pets from us even if only for RP purposes.

Also I have volunteered you Gnomes to perform "Free Checkups" of walkup customer's mechanical pets, so you should be prepared RP-wise to not only do that, but answer any IC questions related to the proper operation and maintenance of finely crafted Gnomish mechanical companions. =)

Also Forbs did a bangup business next door selling Horde pets since she isnt an engineer. That incidently was the origin of Forbs' "Explorer" outfit. I whipped it up so she would look like she had been wrangling exotic pets from exotic lands. However this time the Brotherhood of Iron will be selling at the market leftover Horde pets from their anniversary celebration. So I'll have to find something else to do. Maybe I could sell "Pet Accessories" like leashes and flasks of oil?

If I remember correctly we made 6 of each and yes the squirrels went fast, no one could make the toad last time, and the yetis sold horribly (I think only one was sold the rest were given away to members later). The bunnies and world destroyers would probably sell better at a lower rate, we should probably undercut the AH. I will be happy to help gather and construct but will need quatities of each to work out the nessasaties, Also tell me what you need to make a toad Brixee I want one.

Brix got busy yesterday (and likely overdid it). We have:

20 squirrels
20 bomblings
20 smokeys
10 toads

She never got to the Yetis or World destroyers. The Yetis take a variety of mats, and the most needed of them is (oddly) runecloth. One component of the Destroyers requires Volatile Air - which we are either low on, or out of. So, those are the only 2 I didn't get to for lack of mats.

Forbs was concerned about how much got used form the GB. I can assure you, if it was a plentiful mat, I likely got it from the GB, if it was a bit harder to obtain, I got it from my own GB (I have a crapton of mats that have sat in there and been used for ... nothing). When Jinky went out farming Arcane Crystals for her legendary, she ended up with her bags full of Thorium ore, of which only a small portion sold on the AH. So that was used for Thorium Widgets. And finally, Brix went out and farmed some copper and iron that she needed. She still has a small portion of mats in her bags (from the G4 GB), which can be returned if needed. She's just holding them for the time being until I get the remaining needed mats. Unless someone else wants to finish off the list.

Also, just to throw this out there, I have a small selection of loot cards at hand that I haven't used. They don't have anything seriously neat on them, but would those be a viable sales item? I don't really care if the gold goes to me. I'm willing to donate them. There are 4 Slashdance (a grenade that makes everyone in the group dance), a Paper Airplane, and a Path of Cenarius. Oh, and either a Landro's Lichling or Landro's Lil' XT - can't remember which one.
It's early, and I really can't recall what the policy is on those things. But, as I said, I'm just throwing that out there.

I'm not concerned much about using GB supplies for this. Its precisely what its there for! And if you let me know what's needed for the rest of the pets I can help gather them. We have quite a bit of Runecloth in Overstock if I recall correctly.

Last time I believe the Frogs were the only pet we didnt have for sale because no one had the schematic.

We should have a few World Destroyers and Bunnies on hand too, but not too many. They tend to be pricey and so we will sell fewer of them. I'd suggest something like 3-4 of each.

Also those of us who will be working the booth selling pets should have some mechanical pets of our own out as "Display models" during the event. So you Engineers make sure you make one of each for yourselves!

Just wondering if we're all ready for this (is everything made?), since it's coming up soon. What else do we need to do for this event? Like, last time we all wore blue overalls I think. Are we gonna wear some thing similar this time?

We still need a few (like four) World Destroyers.

We also need some Mechanical Yeti's

and we need some Tonk Controllers

And of course we need lots of Gnomes to make sure our booth is busy. We need people to help sell pets, and people to simply be there and RP with the people.

Let me know what we need to farm and I'll help!

Well, now that I've had some sleep and can function in a manner close to (but not quite) normal, I thought I'd throw out my thoughts on the Fair.
It has just occurred to me as I type this, that this marks roughly 1 year with G4, as I first attended the Fair on Katt last year. But I digress.

As I predicted, I overdid the low-end pets. Perhaps when we recruit new members we could give them a couple?
And as we all realized, we sold out of the high-end pets very quickly. I sold 6 within the first hour. Or hour and a half.
We likely took a drubbing gold-wise by selling the toads so cheaply, seeing as how they AH for 600g, but I think in the long run by doing so we actually got them to sell. And I think by taking this tactic, we have shown the RP community that we are willing to cater to RPers. Granted, we do so already, but this just helps it. I think the reason for the price on the AH has more to do with the value of the schematic than the value of the mats. I never had anyone ask about the Yeti, but I did see Forbs mentioning them to someone.

RP-wise:
I played Brix as she is. Pretty quiet and introverted, but if thrust into a situation where she had to interact with other people, she was polite and gracious. But not pushy about making a sale. Brix would never do that. If someone had a particularly nicely put together RP outfit, she would complement them on it. Trying to spell the word "mechanical" was causing me no end of problems. Brix likes to speak eloquently and clearly, so that word - for some reason - was just griefing me. If I were doing the Fair on Katt, it wouldn't bother me so much. She just blathers, so typos are a part of her speech. I didn't mind our location. There wasn't much bleed-through of other merchants /say. That would have really messed me up. And you also knew that if someone was walking along the path we were on, they were coming to see what we were doing.

Other than a word that my fingers didn't want to spell, the only other thing that caused a surprise issue was the GB. Brix hit her withdrawl limit on it. So, next time, I'll just have to make a bit more bag space and fill up on pets. The 1 hr CD on the GB created a small issue, too. We'll have to find a work-around for that.

Overall, Brix enjoyed herself. It'd be interesting to try using Jinky for something like this. I'm not sure she'd get good sales, as she's pretty socially inept. When I had her there, I was hoping the Deer would spawn again while she was talking with the 2 people from Shanre who put this together. Then Jink would Death Grip it over to her and ask them if it was theirs; if so, would they mind training it not to walk into her all the time.
