Note that the following segment has been REMOVED from the US RP Realm Policy...

Out of Character (OOC) Discussion and Use of General Chat

Detailed below is the language policy enforced on the Role Play realms. Use of the /ignore command is also highly encouraged.

> The General Chat Channel should only be used for finding Story Lines (SLs), finding Party Groups and various other discussions pertaining to Base Story Line (BSL), game-related topics, and continuity

> The General Chat Channel should NOT be used for any "Off-topic," Non-Story Line or non game-related discussion

> Absolutely no out of character (OOC) or Non-Fantasy related dialogue should take place in the /Say, /Yell, or Party Chat Channels

> Guild Chat will not be policed for any fantasy related violations

> All normal harassment rules still apply

This came to light as the result of a disagreement about the Policy and lo...it was changed this month, and not for the better in my estimation. I'm guessing I'm not the only person who didnt hear about this.

So.....
Does that mean people can be reported for coming up to you and saying in /say "where did you get that cool pet?"? If you are only allowed to whisper then every trial account player is left even more powerless to communicate with others on an RP realm.

And where can, for example, a guild group running dungeons with a pug player or two have OOC chat without bothering everyone that is not in their group in the guild OOC channel?

I have always had the impression that Blizz has found policing RP realm issues tedious and bothersome. Why would they make things even stricter when they don't even enforce existing issues properly?

I think you read that wrong Tiffyn, if I am reading it correctly all the things Forbs just laid out in the thread are what Blizzard decided to do away with make the rules essentally just like a normal realm save for the name restrictions

Ack...yes. I failed to see the word "removed" in giant caps!

Proves I'm right, unfortunately. Blizz has no love for roleplayers. Why do they bother with the realms?
