I'm thinking about buying a new PC for my mother. She only plays WoW and surfs the internets. I'd build her one, but her tech support (me) lives almost 2,500 miles away!

Her current computer is 6 years old, could probably go another year or two with just a video card upgrade, but we usually retire her rig and turn it over to my stepfather.

It would have to be purchased from a reputable company that does decent gaming machines.

We've purchased Alienwares and Dells and been happy with them in the past.

Any other suggestions for places to buy pre-built machines?

Thanks!

I've had two machines built by Cyberpower Inc.

The first PC I bought from them was Pentium 4 running Windows XT and was super fast for its time. It lasted me for over six years before it started giving me problems. Still runs...mostly. It just cant run anything newer than eight years old.

Bought my current gaming rig from them. Cost me 1k. Runs WoW at max settings at 97FPS. Runs Overwatch on high graphics without breaking a sweat, and its quiet.

Pros:
They build solid gaming rigs
Their prices are competitive
They install an OS & Drivers, no bloatware.
They have lots of options to fit almost any budget

Cons:
You buy from their website ONLY.
Family business, post-sale customer support is almost non-existant.

My PC was built by Cyberpower. I highly recommend them for all the reasons Forbs went into. The only thing I've done to it since I bought it ~4 years ago was upgrade the video card and the power supply. I am very happy with it, and I would certainly consider them if I needed to replace my PC in the future and didn't feel like building it myself.
