Private 78 Posts | Felt this was a good place to introduce myself, if anyone else wants to do the same, feel free. My name is Chad, I am 31 years old and I live in Oregon. Started playing pen and paper roleplaying games in high school and was bitten by the bug. When Star Wars Galaxies came out I was quick to jump into the MMO world. These games are mostly what I play now. I started playing WoW a month after launch, when a couple friends of mine showed me the game. I have been an active player off and on ever since. I started playing alliance, for a few years, then horde for a few more. I am ready to play alliance again and am thrilled to do so with such a great group of players. I work as a printer and have a degree in graphic design. I am a drummer and a fan of football (soccer). Thanks for allowing me to be apart of the G4 family. ~''~We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams~''~ |
Commanding O... 2103 Posts | Wow awesome portrait! I wish I had a photo of me that was even half as flattering.
Seriously, when the best picture you have of yourself is on your drivers license, you know youre not photogenic! =)
WoW is mostly what I play now because nearly all the people I used to game with have gotten old and no longer game. I used to play a lot of FPS and RTS titles. I still have Diablo 2, Half-life 2, Red Alert 3, Borderlands, and both Portals on my hard drive, and take them for a spin occasionally.
I've been jonesing for a good RTS fix, but there is nothing on the market right now that interests me.

Ensign 41 Posts | Corbitz / Machello here. I have been playing WoW on and off since 2008. Mostly PVE and Dungeons and a small stint at twinking BGs when that was popular. I would like to get back into PvP and even do some Raiding (have yet to do that other than world PvP defense raids). Outside of WoW I play guitar, write music and tinker with electronics. I don't have any regular pics but I have some taken during a show... and one of my roomate... she tires to help sometimes by attacking mobs on my monitor :) |
Private 78 Posts | Awesome pic Corbitz! We should jam sometime...
Forbs... I suppose that is a good excuse not to reveal yourself. My license pic looks like I was caught with my hand in the cookie jar...hmm.. cookies sound good, gotta go!... ~''~We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams~''~ |

Howdy there yall, in WoW I am known as Wilbyr, Willy, The Gnome with the Beard, but outside of WoW, I am simply Corey. :) I'll be 26 this coming August and am a Habilitation Technician for A Small Miracle; a Healthcare Corporation in the Raleigh/Durham area that provides care for people with mental disabilities/handicaps. When I am not WoWing or helping my client during the week, I like to read, watch movies, listen to music (Instrumental mainly, Classical/Movie Soundtracks/etc.) and blacksmith. I'll have to post photos later regarding blacksmithing and some things I've made.
I also have an unhealthy craving for cheesecake. :D |

Private 85 Posts | That's me in the corner . . . that's me in the spotli- I mean, right corner. Blue t-shirt. With my daughter and ex-husband about 5 years ago at MGM. Anywhoo, I'm Kim, I'm going to be 38 in a couple of weeks, and live in the 6th largest city in my state (which, being South Dakota, means there's a whopping 18,000 of us here). I'm originally from central Massachusetts, where the small town I lived in had the same population, so yes, it was a bit of a culture shock. I was married for 10 years, divorced, and just remarried last year. I have one daughter (11), a rat terrier named Mushu (7), a pomeranian named Ripley (15), and a ball python named Klinger (approx. 6). I'm not as old-skool as they get on MMO's, but I'm pretty old-skool. I started playing UO right after the Trammel/Felucia switch, and became a tester for UO3D. As soon as the boards became available I was one of the poor souls who drank the SWG Kool-Aid, leaving finally after the players were ready to Fed-Ex themselves to the LucasArts offices just to personally kick Haden. Yearning for a home, I tested WoW and have been here ever since (with a few breaks here and there). In the real world, my husband and I are both full-time students, having returned to college after the company we worked for had a mass layoff at the beginning of the recession. Prior to that I have run a book store, a toy store, worked at a horror theme park, managed the reptile and kennel areas of pet stores, worked at zoos with everything from mice to elephants, and been a standardized patient for a medical university, among other things. Now we're moving into archaeology or paleontology, and hope someday to move to Oman so that we can help preserve Middle Eastern history. Hobbies include art, gaming (obviously), and primitive survival skills, especially brain tanning. I do not enjoy long walks on the beach because I always get sunburned and end up smelling like dead fish. |
Ensign 23 Posts | Exhibit A: Pink hair Exhibit B: Large eyewear. I think I was made to play a Gnome. I grew up all over W. Washington state with most of my teenage years in Seattle proper. I moved to Athens, GA 3 years ago and really like it down here with the huminidty (most of the time!) I work in a jewelry store and design costumes for a local comm. theatre. Previous occupations include: co-owner of a large costume rental shop and Joann craft monkey. I am a little late to the WoW bandwagon - started playing in Jan of '10 after finally being the owner of a computer fancy enough to handle it. Gnomes drew me away from the lure of beautiful, beautiful Blood Elves, and Lexifrazz is the highest Alliance character I have leveled. Ever. :D |
Private 85 Posts | You ARE a living gnome! My hair was blue last year! YAY FOR COOL HAIR! |
Private 78 Posts | I used to have platinum blonde hair, not sure if that was cool or not. Thanks for your contributions. I played a Tauren Shaman named Mooshu once. Kinda related lol. ~''~We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams~''~ |
Commanding O... 2103 Posts | OMG! So many awesome pics! Tubbins, that axe looks dangerous! Awesome sig too! I see I have some serious Photoshop competition! Or maybe I need to put you to work? Corbitz that is the second most adorable kittycat ever! Next to mine of course =^.^= Let me see if I can find anything of her... Not the best pic I'm afraid. Taken with my cell phone a couple years ago. Penti Yay for puppies! Give em hugs from Forbs! Lexi oh man you got the hair AND the goggles! :) - Forbs"For Gnomeregan!" |
Private 78 Posts | Oh no! I am about to be put to work... *quickly deletes signature* ...Thanks for noticing. While I did get a degree in graphic design, I haven't had much work. I graduated in 2002, so I am not as talented as I once was. That being said, if you had some simple ideas, I would love to give it a go. ~''~We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams~''~ |
Lieutenant 955 Posts | Can someone explain to me...please...just how I go about posting a picture in my post - just like the rest of you have done. Whenever I try it, I get the 'Broken Picture' icon, and clicking on that gets me nothing. I'm using Flickr, if that helps in any way. Make a sincere complement on a really nice mustache, and all of a sudden, she's not your friend anymore. - Marty Feldman. |
Commanding O... 2103 Posts | What you need to do is this... 1. Upload the picture to a convenient website on the web. I generally use Photobucket, but there are others. Ex: http://s1207.photobucket.com/home/GnomereganForever2. Get the url of the picture you want to post. This made easy on Photobucket, but you can do it pretty much anywhere by right-clicking the image and choosing: "Copy Image URL" 3. Mouse-over the options in the post editor above your post/reply until you find "Image [Ctrl+P]" and click it, and then paste the URL of your image in the popup box and click OK and that should do it. 4. If by chance the above *doesnt* do it, check the image format. Some forums restrict the image formats that can be displayed. Most commonly supported are .JPG, .PNG, .BMP, and .GIF - Forbs"For Gnomeregan!" |
Lieutenant 955 Posts | Ok - it seems that with Flickr, you have to use your Photostream, and not the actual image. Weird, but it works. So... Who am I? Me. pleased ta meetcha. Where am I? I live in a small town called Coaldale, which is 10 minutes outside of Lethbridge, Alberta. Lethbridge is an hour and a half north of the border. I've lived here for about 5 years, and despite my friends wanting me to Calgary, I'm quite content here. Before that, I lived in Drumheller, Alberta for 17 years or so. Drumheller is known in Canada for it's Fossil Museum. Going back further than that, I grew up in a place called Lower Shinimacas, which is in Nova Scotia (pronounced shin-uh-muh-kass - a Miq-maq word that means 'Shining Waters'. Miq-maq are the natives on Canada's east coast). It's very lush and green there, and I miss the ocean. On an interesting side note - in the attic of the house I grew up in, we found this: It's now placed properly, but for many years, it sat in our attic. As a child, I couldn't help but wonder what *else* was up there. What do I do? I work in construction. I'm a cribber, to be precise. What's a cribber is something I get asked a lot. Cribbers are the crew that set up the forms, pour the concrete and strip the forms for a basement foundation. It pays the bills, but it's not a dream job. I've also worked as a convenience store clerk and a bartender (and, truthfully, have also done every other job relating to a convenience store and a bar). While I was working at the bar, I met my friend Mike, who was instrumental in getting me hooked on WoW. I also worked for 1 year in a 6000 unit pig barn. My job there was to get the pigs knocked up. Not for the sqeamish, but it didn't bother me. I got to work with a bunch of really great pigs - oh, and there were some people there, too, but there's nothing interesting to say about them. This is Neil - one of the Boars. He was nothing but a very large puppy: How did I get into WoW? When I lived in Drumheller, Mike and I were always swapping games with each other. When I moved to Coaldale, that ended, but we still kept (and still do) in touch, and compare games. He asked me one time if I'd tried this 'Warcraft' game. I'd actually played the first Warcraft game, but about halfway through, I just cheated my way through it....cuz...I just suck at RTS games, really. He thought it was pretty good, and suggested I give it a try. That way, we could both play the same game, and keep in touch in real time. My very first toon was a NE warrior. I can't remember his name anymore, but I do remember getting myself all turned around in the starting zone and ending up outside Dolanaar. Not knowing what I was doing, I ended up dying repeatedly to one of those Bog Lurker-looking mobs. Seeing as how that wasn't working, I next tried a NE druid named Tygrage. By this time, I had bought the full classic game, and Mike and I were playing on Black Dragonflight - which was a PvP server. So, poor Ty only made it as far as lvl34 before he was deleted. Now I had figured out what all the different servers did, so I moved to Blade's Edge, and started again. This time it was a NE Rogue named Slyguy. I still didn't know what I was doing, but I didn't care. This was fun! Mike managed to snag me a copy of BC for $10, so I was set for the next expansion - when Sly got that far. I recall that around this time Futureshop (an electronics store) had a supply of the BC Coll. Ed. I regret to this day not buying it. Once Sly got into BC, he also got into my first guild. It was run by a recently married couple who lived in Texas. If memory serves, he was playing a priest...but she was playing a warlock. I thought all the different minions seemed like a neat thing, and I wanted to try that too. Thus Marita, a Gnome Warlock came into being - and shoved Sly off to the sidelines from that point on. I still have Sly in my stable, but I just don't have the heart to delete him. He was, after all, my first level-capped toon. He also picks locks that Brixees too lazy to blow open. For a long time, it was just the 2 toons. I added a Draenai Paladin named Jelanne after a while. Eventually, the guild disbanded and we went our seperate ways. After a bit, Marita and Jelanne ended up in a Hardcore guild. This was such a bad move on my part, and I'll never do it again. When it gets so bad that you're almost ashamed to log onto a toon, it's pretty darned bad - and that's what it was like. I felt I had 2 choices here. Either just haul off and quit WoW, or take another look at what was out there for realms. After some research, I figured I'd give an RP server a try. I was also curious to see what the quests were like horde-side. Thus, Tandreline the Blood Elf Mage was created on Thorium Brotherhood, along with Elandira the Draenai hunter. TB, though being touted as an RP realm, doesn't seem to have a lot of rp going on - at least not that I could find. It feels more like a PvE realm, but without near as many obnoxious trade trolls. Tandre is still there, and in a good guild. She is also my second Loremaster toon, done pre-cata. Seeing as how there didn't seem to be much rp going on there, I poked around and found Wrymrest Accord. Katt came into being at this point, mainly to hang about in SW, and find out what the rp was like. There seemed to be an abundance of it, so I moved Marita there. Except the name was taken, and I had to come up with another one. Within 5 minutes, I had come up with the name Brixee, and she made the great leap through cyberspace. She eventually joined Gnome Depot, and with some security under her belt, I moved a good majority of my toons there. Brixee is my main, and I so enjoy my little redhaired fireball. She is also my Achievement Queen. Katt has quickly become my second favorite toon. I credit this not to my gameplay or rp ability, but to the fine group of funny gnomes that Katt gets to hang with on a regular basis. What do I look like? This: To clarify - I would be the tall, goofy one, and Felicia Day would be the short, attractive one. Musical Abilities: I play a mean Kazoo. And you don't want me to sing. Musical Interests: I have no particular favorites here. I like a little bit of everything. My absolute favorite song is Linger by the Cranberries. Hobbies: A lot. My Mom calls me a packrat. I collect comics, movies/TV shows on DVD or Blueray, WoW stuff, Star Wars, Star Trek, Coca-cola, antiques, old books, you get the idea. I like to watch: SW, ST, Red Dwarf (love it), Lost, X-files, Reno 911, Trailer Park Boys (even though I don't do drugs, I find it an amusing series). What am I like IRL? Believe it or not, I'm very quiet. I prefer to do all my talking like this - on the net. ~ Katt Make a sincere complement on a really nice mustache, and all of a sudden, she's not your friend anymore. - Marty Feldman. |
Private 78 Posts | Katt, you are my hero. I remember reading your Felicia story a week or so ago. Thanks for your submission, it is so fun to learn about how other people ended up here. ~''~We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of dreams~''~ |
Ensign 35 Posts | I'm Michelle, a homeschooling mom of 3 living in So. AZ (and a rare Native Arizonan, at that!). I started playing WoW when BC came out and my now adult son wanted to play with someone. Most days all four of us can be found playing together at some point. IRL I have been a professional photographer, a rollergirl and a housesitter. My kids and I moved out to a rural property last year where I hope to soon start raising chickens. I like to garden and this year my plot if overrun with rogue pumpkins. I'm an information junkie (I have 18 tabs open at the moment), I like manga and anime, philosophy, and alternative politics and education. A quick pic of our sweeties B Boy and Twink: |
